Of the many things I love about this series, I REALLY love your emphasis (understated, I think) that so much of medical diagnosis involves psychology as much as rationality and the scientific method. I think this is true of pretty much every related, human intellectual endeavor. This phenomenon always has to be understood and frankly guarded against. A specialist who doesn't want to give a wrong answer is perhaps more dangerous than a non-specialist unburdened by the ego. Thank you for this.
I can't believe how bright you are. I'm wondering what your inspiration is? You communicate so well, but I wonder why you limit yourself to medicine ? Not only are you bright, but you are also compassionate. I have few others in my life that I can feel akin to, you are an artist is asking the right questions, unselfish in that you give it away. Just marvelous.
Thank you for all the chapters you've written and you continue to write. I look forward to them. I use them for advocacy! I also learn and grow from them so I do not become stagnant in my own thought patterns.
I'm advocating for myself and for my four children. I was hit with Long Covid, Fibro, POTS, etc all at once. My children have all had repercussions in some way as well. We are all neurodivergent also which I find extremely hard to navigate in the medical system. I print your articles and highlight portions of them for back-up when I need them and have had great discussions with doctors who are open minded and willing to look at my situation differently. Once I can do that for myself, I'm able to do that for my children as well. It has been so empowering. I cannot thank you enough. :)
Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm overjoyed to hear that you have open minded doctors who listen and care! And happy that my writing is of help to you in any way. I know so many people who also have this cocktail of autoimmune conditions. Your "etc" speaks volumes. Thank you for subscribing.

Thank you for your kind comment and for reposting! Seriously, Mark, you're making me blush.

@KimberlyKomar, thank you for the kind words. Are you advocating for yourself or for others? (Or both?)

Well said. You know how I feel about this.
I loved Portugal! Enjoy.
Thanks Dan! We share a great deal, this being one of them. Are you attending DEX25?
Not this year. We'll be in Portugal.
