Three Quick Announcements

#1:

I’m starting a new series called THE ADVOCATES. It's a continuation of the helpful advice I've shared over the past year. This series will be on-camera interviews to introduce you to some extraordinary people who are working to fix healthcare. They’re the men and women who have started nonprofits, or advocacy groups, or created apps, platforms and widgets. Each one is a person who has devoted their life to help keep patients safer and make access to services easier. I’ll keep them brief, but I’ll also provide you with their website or contact info so you can learn more.

#2

For many reasons, I’ve been advised to start charging for subscriptions to protect all of the chapters in last year’s series A GUIDE TO SURVIVING AMERICAN HEALTHCARE. I hope you will become a paid subscriber when the pay wall goes up in one week. If you do, you’ll always have access to all of the chapters and advice in A GUIDE, as well as the tools I’ve created including The L.I.S.A. Pain Checklist, the Six Steps to Choosing a Primary Care Doctor and The 8 Characteristics of a Symptom Tool. Meanwhile, I’m working on turning all of the chapters into a book you can keep at home.

#3

And if you’re up early, listen to my live interview on WBAI-99.5 FM tomorrow morning, Friday February 6 at 7:15 AM ET. If you’re not in the New York metro area, you can catch it live on WBAI.org. If you miss it, don’t worry. The host Julianna Forlano has promised to send me a link to the interview I can share.

TRANSCRIPT

(00:00:01):

Hi, I’m going on camera to make three quick announcements to all of my subscribers and readers.

(00:00:07):

The first one is I’m starting a new series in 2026.

(00:00:10):

Now that THE GUIDE TO SURVIVING AMERICAN HEALTHCARE is complete,

(00:00:15):

I’m going to be starting a series of on-camera interviews with patient advocates

(00:00:22):

who are working hard to make health care better for all of us.

(00:00:26):

I’m calling the series The Advocates.

(00:00:28):

They will be quick,

(00:00:29):

less than 20 minutes long,

(00:00:32):

live interviews with people you should know about who will also offer helpful tips

(00:00:39):

for you to stay safer in this crazy dysfunctional American health care system that

(00:00:45):

we have.

(00:00:46):

The second thing is because THE GUIDE TO SURVIVING AMERICAN HEALTHCARE is going to

(00:00:53):

become a published book someday soon.

(00:00:56):

That announcement will come later.

(00:00:59):

I have to put it behind a paywall.

(00:01:01):

So everything from 2025 is going to be go behind a paywall in one week from today.

(00:01:10):

And third,

(00:01:11):

if you’re interested,

(00:01:12):

I will be on WBAI radio station,

(00:01:17):

which is in the New York metro area,

(00:01:20):

99.5 tomorrow morning at 7.15 a.m.

(00:01:25):

with Julianna Forlano.

(00:01:27):

Looking forward to it.

(00:01:28):

It should be fun if I can stay awake.

(00:01:31):

And I am going to share the link to the interview once we’re done.

(00:01:37):

I hope you have a fabulous day and look forward to talking to you and hearing from you soon.

(00:01:44):

Bye.
